A Crucial Decision
I can’t imagine what it must feel like to have to put a loved one in a nursing facility. That was one of my grandmother’s greatest fears, that she would end up in a nursing home. She was a fiercely independent woman. Luckily, she got her wish.
But she also never got to the point before she died that an alternative became senior housing. New York City is a very big place, but if you are in the New York area and the crucial decision of putting your loved one into a nursing facility has become a necessary option, the smartest and kindest thing you could do is check out the Gilbert Guide.
There you will find expert assessments of the complete range of senior care facilities and services in the New York City area. From assisted living to skilled nursing facilities, CCRCs, Alzheimer’s care, hospice and more, the Gilbert Guide’s team of experts review and handpick every facility, organization and individual listed. I just lost my father in January after his battle with Alzheimers. In the end, he did have to live in a nursing facility because he could literally do nothing on his own. I was able to find one less than ten minutes from my house and visited him almost every day.
Thanks for posting your information.
I’m not in the New York City area. Your out-of-city readers may want to know that http://www.medicare.gov also allows you to compare facilities.
